Default Help identify oil hose leak 911 3.2

Hi,

Can someone help identify the oil hose below (part#). It is weeping and doesn't look genuine to me. To replace do I need to lower the engine or can be done in situ?

TIA,
Oemar

On my 3,2 that is a solid metallic oil line that looks to wrap around from the side of the motor to feed the chain tensioner. Wonder if someone has cut or broken the metal and replaced it with a rubber hose.

Is that the cam chain pipe? Hard to tell in the pic and yes if it is its solid metal with a crimped hose. See my motor. Maybe you can spot the pipe.

Thanks guys for replying, you guys are correct. It is the left cam oil pipe. Mine has been repaired/modified with a rubber hose and clamped. I'm getting a genuine one.

Has anyone replaced it before? Please share the steps, it is not on Bentley book. TIA..

I'm fairly certain that the stock part has a short section of rubber hose. You can replace the line relatively easily with the engine in. You have to pull the distributor. Just make sure you document it's orientation for reinstallation. One nut.

The line itself comes out easily. Pelican parts sells new ones. I replaced the washers on either side of the hollow bolts that hold it on for good measure.

OK, so it is segmented with some steel and some rubber....but the OE part doesn't have a hose clamp on it.

Spyerx, what do you plan to use to de-blue the muffler after a spirited drive?

Be careful not to over torque the banjo bolts , use new crush washers as advised and when you feel them crush stop. you can always tighten a little but those banjo bolts are hollow, don't want to snap one.

Thanks everyone for replying, I will get the OEM part with the washers. My current pipe appears to be modified by previous owner with a hose with a clamp. OEM hose are crimped.

Lol. I didn't touch the exhaust system. Stock headers with fabspeed bypass and muffler.
