Default 1980 911 SC temperature sending unit replacement

Good evening,
I have searched for an article of how to replace the temperature sending unit. Mine currently doesn't move and stays in the very cool zone. I assume the sending unit is bad, the gauge I believe is fine. Can anyone share an article or point me to a tech article to assist. Thanks

Don't really need a tech article but I'm sure pelican has one.
If it is the standalone one at the very back of the car siting horizontally pointing straigjt back at you simply unbolt it and bolt in s new one

If you have a cylindrical barrel pointing straight up with two wires coming off it stop and come back here.

Btw you can confirm it's the sender by just taking the wire off the sensor and grounding it with the ignition on. The gage should go to full deflection

Thank you Iceman, I will check it out and report back. I may need to post a photo if it is the 2nd option. I looked on Pelican and appears to be part # 911-606-112-00-M100 and requires a gasket
I will try out your test to see what the issue is. Thanks again.

Assume where the green wire attaches, a bit blurry!
