All... need your help... having problem with Fabspeed
Bought the Carrera RSR kit from Fabspeed.
Unfortunately their crossover heat pipe doesn't fit for my Carrera 3.2.
Brian @ Fabspeed is telling me that my 3.2 engine has been modified or is not original, as he states that ALL air cooled Porsches have the same exact heat crossover tubing and 'one size fits all'
Unfortunately I've done further searching and found different pics of their own product that shows different parts for different engine types, and what I have seems to be for a different engine type.
LOL. Fabspeed is never wrong. They never make a mistake. They never learn either.
Your engine and the tin surrounding it is perfectly stock, as is mine. I backdated the heat and use a Bisimoto pulse chamber, but my tin is stock. Fabspeed is once again showing their ignorance.
Looks like you have some fabrication work in your future. I'd modify the engine tin by moving the hole and backdate the blower out of they engine bay.
Depending on your fab-skills It may be easier to buy an engine tin blank or one without the hole and put the hole where you want it. I believe there is room under the engine mount for the ducting.
Google: "Porsche 911 heat backdate" and you will find stories about how you have to beat the living crap out of the left side bypass because of our giant distributors. It took me a while, but nobody has ever noticed my handywork there. I'll go snap a photo of that too....
Thanks Gramps
It might be easier to just have someone fabricate a correct heat tube rather than modify all of that just for the Fabspeed exhaust to fit.
I had real high hopes to praise Fabspeed on their excellent quality and service... but after just one phone conversation with Brian @ Fabspeed, they are going to go out of business if they don't fire that guy.
I've NEVER had someone tell me that their part was perfectly fine, and the problem was with my car.
Let's hope Brian isn't married... imagine if he bought his wife a ring in the wrong size and told her that the problem is not the ring but it's her finger. LOL!!!
This should help. Unfortunately I could be just as hard on you for not doing ALL your research as I was on Fabspeed. The last time I thrashed on Fabspeed I had a very nice conversation with the new guy, may have been Brian, so I can tell you they are trying to improve and trying to learn the cars. I can see how this engine tin configuration goes unaccounted for. Backdate my friend.
Well, their sales guy who I found on this forum was awesome to work with. Only wish everyone there was as helpful as him.
What is that hose material made out of and where can I get it? I could probably just use that to attach the silicon hose to.

You can get it at Pelican. It bridges the gap between the heat exchangers and the flapper boxes. Or....you can buy it in bulk from Aircraft Spruce like I've done. I also deleted my footwell blowers and my fresh air box
When you look at the image of it installed on their site, it's nothing like what they gave you. Maybe this is an alternative way of plumbing the heat? That really sucks.
Their heater boxes suck anyway. Really isn't worth the trouble. My shop did some testing with a pyrometer when I complained about the temperature (or lack there of). Even idling in a shop for 20 minutes couldn't hold a candle to the oe heat exchangers.
I'd send it back and try something new. That bisimoto exhaust looks really interesting.

Yeah... I brought that up, and was given the typical "That's an old picture".
What I also thought was hilarious is that when I mentioned the part doesn't fit my car... I was told by Brian @ Fabspeed that "I ship 2 of these same kits out EVERY DAY and I've NEVER heard of anyone having an issue installing the crossover heating tube."
Apparently I have a special 'prototype' Carrera 3.2 that is the ONLY one EVER made!
I thought it looked interesting as well... and has some great reviews.
Unfortunately no one at Bisimoto has ever returned any of my emails requesting some information on their exhaust.

What would you like to ask Bisi? I have his cell number. His shop is like two blocks from my office. I can tell you he is one busy dude who is still very active in the tuner world. His dyno has a different car on it every day. When we dyno'd mine we gained from the chip and pipe combo something like 29.64 RWHP...
Hey guys, i'm working on this right now to determine the cause and resolution of the issue. Lets keep things reasonable here, we have never had this issue before on any of our 3.2L clients and just found out about this one. We strive for perfection but as we all know in business there comes time where you can't hit that mark. Just need a little time to determine root cause and get it taken care of. I pride myself and this company on its transparency and dedication to the Porsche community, so expect a conclusive update once we figure this out.\
Doug, it was good talking to you and I appreciate your patience my friend.

Thanks John... I appreciate your help in this.
Hopefully someone on here could post up some pics of their Fabspeed install on a 3.2, or show some solutions on a heater crossover pipe that would work.
Just so everyone else knows... Fabspeed is looking at having me modify the part to fit. They are going to ship something out that we'll try to cut and make it fit.
I'll post up some pics of it once it's done.
I'm also going to post of a video of the sound, as it seems there aren't any other vids of this exhaust using straight pipes. Looking forward to setting off some car alarms with this exhaust! HA!
