amazing! Yes that's a great question... I have no clue but what is for sale out there is high priced with often high miles. What's an under 40k mile SC in gorgeous original condition worth? What about a really good condition one with 100k miles?

Nice SC Coupes with around 100k will be in the $30s. Search on www.bringatrailer.com and you see plenty of examples. A perfect all original example with under 40k is tough to put a number on. Color, documentation, maintenance etc...will all make $1000's of a difference.

I have a hard time believing the actual mileage on the earlier cars with them being so easy to manipulate and hearing stories of re-stamping engines to make them " matching numbers ".

Yeah who's the girl ? lol

YIKES! Restamping engines to make them matching!!?? As far as milage goes, I agree with you. I had mine PPI'd at ReidVann (St. Louis) and Reid himself looked over my car. He took me in back and showed me how the body did corroborate the low miles (37K). There was no rust and he also pointed to some kind of yellowish/gold coating on the underbody that was the original treatment (of some kind) and definitely indicated low miles and little use. Who really knows though?

All I know is that I really love my car! I love how delicate it is. Delicate in how small the A pillars are, the view, the way the glove box closes. Little things that add up to a great experience. We are so lucky to not only appreciate such, but also to own and drive these works of art. Amazing!

The yellow stuff is cosmoline and a sure sign it's not been heavily used.
When I got mine I cleaned it all off the engine not realizing it was patina.

So cool to know. At least you know it was there. That's all that's important.
