Default Obenauf's oil question

Will this oil change that Porsche smell in any way? Will it enhance it? I would hate to apply this stuff and change the way it smells.

I always used Leatherique in my 911 and it never changed anything as far as the unique smell of the leather seats in a 30 year old car ...

I've used Obenauf's on the leather in my Porsches, I did not notice any change to the smell.
Obenauf's is great stuff, best I have used for leather.

I use Connolly hide food.
The smell of an old Porsche is so much more than old leather.

Good stuff! But it was renamed "Hide Care" like 20 years ago to stop people eating it!

I use Gliptones Liquid leather, just like the hide care it's not just fat and oil!

Thanks everyone. I started the treatment yesterday. I had it in the sun for a bit but the seats started cooking so I rolled it back in the garage. The passenger seat seems to be soaking it in faster than the drivers. I have gone through half the bottle. I will apply more coats after work. How long does it usually take to really notice the difference? My seats weren't ripping but starting to feel like plastic instead of soft leather. I just got the car last Saturday so I don't know what was ever done to the seats.

I been using Griot's Garage leather care spray and leather rejuvenator on my cars for years now. It takes a few applications to get the seats back to their supple feel and the old Porsches still smell the same.

I just got the car last weekend from CCS in Oyster Bay NY. The car was spotless (you could eat off of the engine). I did take a warm damp cloth and went over the seats before applying the oil. The cloths didn't get dirty. I oiled them last night and let them sit all night and all day today. The passenger seat has soaked up 98%. The drivers seat about 65%. Not seeing any noticeable difference in the feel of the seats yet. I have used about half the 16oz bottle. I have left it in the garage. Nights are cold but the daytime is above 75. Saturday, I am going to move the car out of the garage again and just make an afternoon of applying more oil. I am going to buy more tonight.
