What muffler do you reco?
. Steve W chip too. My car is transformed - can't goo enough about it!
) will tell you that the OEM muffler is best. As an example, Steve Weiner routinely posts here that the OEM unit is what he thinks is best for the 3.2 cars. I had a Bursch muffler on my 3.2 when I bought it and did not like it - too much exhaust noise - I prefer to hear the engine not the muffler. So I replace it with an OEM muffler and liked it much better. I also have a euro pre-muffler which adds a little HP (my dyno test showed 8 RWHP from this) and adds a little more sound - still very much a pure engine sound. I really like this combo. If you need a cheap OEM muffler let me know. I have an extra used one as I bought 2 thinking I might try to make a dual out with one of them. After I installed the other OEM unit and the euro cat pipe, however, I felt like I had the perfect sound.
p.s. The euro cat pipe, combined with a MAF and a chip got me 210 RWHP (almost 250 at the crank).

I have a Flowmaster muffler on my '86 911, along with a Steve Wong chip. Love the combo.
The muffler sound is a higher pitched GRRRRRR sound at idle, escalading to a shriek at WOT. . Can still hear the engine/fan. Warning: There is now some mild POPPING with lifting off throttle (which i don't mind)
I was looking for a higher pitched mechanical sound (found it in the Flowmaster), compared to the lower pitched rumble: BRRRRRRR, Burble of some of the aftermarket 911 mufflers, eg GHL, B&B, etc
Another plus: CHEAP!! Only cost me $200. parts and labor.
Good luck
