I have a 25k mile '95 3.6 I 've recently considered selling complete and ready for conversion
with flywheel , new harness, ECU with harness, updated crank pulley and necessary intake and cam block offs installed .
Almost forgot it comes witha set of nearly new SSI heat exchangers no muffler..
I also have the complete Patrick MotorSport conversion harness and instructions
included for my price.
Let me know if interested the guy I've been speaking with is dragging his feet, Bert

The 3.2 SS, can be a work of art. A 3.6 (like mine) can be a great deal of work to get it to what you have. All of these motors are old.

If you want faster - there is always newer. I would be VERY happy with that motor if it is running well.

I'm never happy, I came from a few 996tt's so I have an addiction.

I'd say I easily will do 5-7k miles a year. So will the newer technology and 3.6 tq be worth it over the rev happy screamer?
The car is 2450lb wet, the 3.2ss has about 3500 miles since being built, transmission already rebuilt, car has 930 brakes all around and coilovers.
I'm looking for opinions, and yes she is already a mutant so not original.

Here's a comarison of the performance potential from a pretty hot ss twin plug 3.2 vs a stock 993 3.6, this is for an E/F series 911 chassis transmission

I have a 3.6 converted '75, and a nice 3.2 Carrera. There is no comparison at all driving them. The 3.6 is easier to drive like a cruiser with all that torque. At the same time, it is SO much faster when your rip it through the gears. Best analogy is I use to think my 3.2 was a quick little car. After getting my 3.6 conversion on the road, the 3.2 feel nostalgic, fun, and slow. My 3.2 is stock with a Steve Wong Chip and full headers/exhaust. My 3.6 is stock, Steve Wong Chip, full headers/exhaust, light weight flywheel.

I own a 74 with a 3.2 on cis and an 86 Carrera. There's no comparison. The early cars are hundreds of pounds lighter and feel so different. My 74 feels quick, whereas the 86 does not. I have no doubt going up to a 3.6 will be even quicker, but my point is you can't compare a middie and Carrera. Just not the same cars.

Totally agree. We threw my '75 on the scales while doing an alignment. With 3/4 tank of gas, my 220lbs in the drivers seat, and a hood someone in the past literally filled the area by the latch with lead it weighed 2,350. I was stunned.

I'm pretty much set on doing the 3.6, it just makes sense for me due to the miles I drive and enjoy
On a random note, Matt to this day I am still thank you for those Daytona tickets, my brother and I have only missed one since then.
Duc Hunter- the car is 2450 full tank with some heavy sparco seats, huge battery, complete rear seats and belts too so I'll work on getting her closer to 2000.

one could strip an '86 down to be less wt. than a stock early car...

the motor choice is mainly about max. oompah vs. better F/R balance

I figure a 9:1 power to wt. ratio is ok

What are you doing about the engine tin ?
I would also suggest using the Rennline stainless engine mount versus the 3.6 unit , the Rennline
one is thicker and has the gussets already welded in , that's the way i went with my 3.6 transplant as well as with some Wevo mounts !

I used Fabspeed headers for the 3.6 , what's really cool is they also work with a 3.2 as the flanges are made to work with both engines ...
