If it's a halfway decent M491, I can't imagine it being on the market for more than a day or two at $60.
By the way, does the option sticker also M470?
Buy it... drive it or flip it. Someone's going to, might as well be you.

Well....I found an 87 with the M491 option in a "paint to sample" Gemini Blue. COA, Options stickers and original Window Sticker all there. The car is in nice shape with a few exceptions. The biggest being a full (albeit really good) respray. Also..the COA states "without spoilers" but a whale tail was added along which is thus not original to the car. Anyone care to offer a current market valuation. PPI came out clean. All original panels. No real issues.
Thanks

491470's car is an example of a 491 / 470 car too, albeit, I seem to recall seeing in the records that the previous / original owner had the turbo rubber lip spoiler installed after the fact.

What a beautiful car... great find! As far as the respray: why the heartburn? If, as you say, it was done to a high standard, I would suggest it makes the car even better. As for market valuation, we would have to know more... a lot more; but, in the final analysis, it's worth is whatever it's worth to you (or the eventual buyer).
For better answers, how about more photos?
A word of caution: until you decide, better not let it out of your sight

For the most part, I agree with RFP that more info is needed. Any paintwork, much less a respray, will turn off some buyers. It does depend on the quality of the job (glass out? New seals? etc.). More details please.
SKVINTAGE ping me if you want to chat about the car. I follow the market rather closely, including making the effort to personally inspect every 491 for sale in reasonable proximity to San Diego, including, for example, this pair of red 491s that were for sale in Pasadena prior to Driver's source acquiring the pair from the previous owner...
https://inventory.driversource.com/v...1-carrera-m491 (super clean G50 cab and one of only two, that I know of, with a manually operated top)
https://inventory.driversource.com/v...1-carrera-m491 (super low mile, but not as clean 915 coupe that has some anachronisms, including on again / off again tail, H5 headlights, etc.)
Full disclosure, I too would be interested in that Gemini example if you pass on it. That being said, I am working on acquiring an '89 coupe. If that falls through, I may turn my attention to a 993 C2S.
Best,
Frank

A Gem of a Gemini. If for any reason you pass, put me in line for this. The M470 or 491 details will be fun discovery once secured, and both are exceptionally interesting, desirable cars. Either way, that car is way under the market if it meets even average condition. I'd not hesitate on that if you want it or you'll get to relive the 'coulda shoulda' for quite some time.

I found some other ones on Holt Motorsports website but they start at 67500.
What to do...what to do...

My 491 is also a 470 and it came with the body colored panels and not the turbo's rubber lip spoiler. Do an image search for '89 USA Speedsters and you will see that they came both ways with the body colored panels or with the turbo rubber lip spoilers. I have seen 491/470 cars equipped both ways. I can't say for sure what the factory's rhyme or reason may have been.
