A 924 Carrera serial # should be 93BN7. . .

924 Carreras were 1980 models, that car's serial # is 1979.

Carreras seem to have had sport seats, This car has standard seats.

The engine is a standard 924 Turbo. Carreras had an intercooler under the hood scoop.

If you had a 924, everything except the motor is fairlt easily done. My guess is that it's a 924 that has been dressed up. Says Carrera on it more than the real ones seem to. The chewed up serial number plate would make me suspicipou too.

I'm going to go ahead and give this beauty my prestigious "Most Overpriced Worthless Half-Concocted Automobile Award for 2002".

What a load of bung.

Everyone knows "real" Carreras have the motor in the rear!!!

Thumbs down

This car appears to be nothing but a monkey'd up 924 turbo with after market fiberglass body parts. I pity the guy who buys it. The bid on ebay is now at $5701. Yikes!

There is a lot in that description of that car that would make an experienced buyer run quickly...

I specifically enjoy the quote "The car seems to have been garaged most of its life and very well taken care of. It's then followed in the next paragraph by "The air dam also has some cracks from a previous careless owner."

Also, I enjoy the comment about "The transmission seems to be in need of syncros. If you shift hard from first to second or second to third, you will get a little grinding. When shifting softly, it will not grind." This is followed by "All relatively minor work."

Buyer Beware.

Unhappy

Oh dear, reserve not met. Those "naturally aspirated 924 Turbos" are rare as hens' teeth.
