CAPorsche, what brand struts are you using?
Some of the cheapers ones have huge tension and will push out the lid even when closed.

I'll try to get my camera in there and read any numbers I can find.

I'm not promoting what's in my car by the way, I'm sure there are better ways to do it; just saying it works.

Sugarwood- I think most people use "Weltmeister Heavy-Duty shocks". They have a lifetime warranty (although it is nontransferable) for when the shock inevitably wears out over time.
