Default Who's up for a fun numbers challenge?

Okay, so I just took delivery yesterday on my 1987 911 Carrera. The car is in beautiful shape. Honestly, the 30 year-old paint looks showroom-perfect. No exaggeration. One pic from proud new owner (not a current plate)...

Now, the challenge.

I had been told the car was "very well maintained over its life," which sure seems accurate. When I went through all the service receipts/invoices that came with the car to get them chronologically presented, I recorded mileage (where shown) and price (always shown) for each entry.

Take a guess at the total-dollar service costs.

Contest ended. The correct answer: $32,140!

Only two clues:

-No engine rebuild or removal of the engine from the car.

-No invoices for the first 20 oil-change services (supported only by warranty book stamps and entries).

Check back this time tomorrow for the correct answer. Price is Right rule applies.

Winner receives nothing except the respect and admiration of fellow Rennlisters.

25K.
I'm not sure what to do about the lack of records for the first 20 oil changes. Roughly 1K per year in maintenance (including tires, brakes, all the routine stuff) on average, minus the first few years on Warranty, plus a little more at the end for 'old car stuff' like replacing shrunken rubber seals

Considering my car had an almost zero cost of ownership for it's first 20 years....I'm going to say it was $2,000 if it got new shocks.

My car didn't get a single stamp at a dealership, still had it's original plugs, rotor, brakes, and likely hadn't had an oil change in a decade.

Default Sorry. Should've included...

89,000 miles.

Also, no body or paint work.

Body and paint isn't maintenance so you couldn't count that anyway.

Wear items are maintenance...

Things like fuel pumps, DME resolder, valve cover gaskets, all fall into cost of ownership. Carpet does not. Shattered headlight does not...

What about tires? Do they fall under cost of ownership?

If serviced at an outstanding ind. shop, then $11k

If serviced at a dealer, then $28k

$10~12K. That's assuming all records (calculate the first 20 oil changes, tires, AC vac and refill, tune ups, are there). No way to really put a dollar number on it without some sort of assumptions about the owner, whether tires were changed every 5 years at least, etc etc.

I have no idea as I am quite new to these AC era cars but would guess $13500.
