Default Black exhaust tip 3.2 fabspeed setup

Hi guys, I'm looking to replace exhaust on my 88 targa with fabspeed euro bypass and straight pipe. Only thing holding me back is I want to maintain the stock look of a black exhaust tip. any suggestions on how to best match this look. Thanks in advance

I'm also turned off by the chrome tip, and I don't get the point of a polished exhaust nobody can see. Useless expense that makes a simple exhaust too expensive. Have you asked them if they can do a black version of the tip?

You know I didn't even consider asking them. I guess it's worth a shot. On a side note my 88 is also Marine blue metallic.

You could just have the exhaust tip either powder coated (ask if it will hold up to the heat) or ceramic coated in the shade of black you like. My brother powder coated the tips on his PSE exhaust on his '10 4S, but it is a double piped exhaust so it may not get as hot as your tip might. I would bet ceramic would be perfect.

Euro Pre-Muffler Catbypass Pipe and Muffler Bypass Pipe. I hope its not going to be too loud. I plan on putting the black tip on and turning it down to baffle it a little.

If you don't want loud, then do not do the muffler bypass pipe. It is horribly loud, particularly with a muffler bypass pipe. For every muffler bypass pipe purchased, one ends up on ebay soon after. Go with a Euro pre-muffler in lieu of the cat. You'll get a nice baritone add to the sound. If you want more, then change the muffler.

Trust me, the muff bypass will literally ruin your driving experience, your neighbors will hate you, and you may well get ticketed. I never ran one, but I've heard them, and they sound like excrement. This is coming from a guy who ran headers and a Flowmaster muffler, which was plenty loud.

I think I have the cat off as it is right now. Not sure what make was on car when I bought it. I'll call and cancel order tomorrow. I want a nice hum but I don't want it to loud and certainly don't want it to sound like my neighbors that drive up and down the street with Harley's and sti's.

On separate note like the 993, my other Porsche is a midnight blue 95 c2. I love the sound of my fister 2 in my 95. What's out there for a 3.2 that's similar

Ed, have you ever heard the fabspeed Supercup? I might try one with a stock cat, but want to talk to someone or hear one in person for their opinion.
