I'm considering moving down from R-comps to street tires ...considering it, but dang tires sizes are my biggest hurdle these days as I need 225 and 245 for my 7/9x16s on my SC.
1. Anyone ever try the proxes T1R (a "High Perf Street").
2. There's also the Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo-R, but that's got a 60 treadwear ...ergo another track tire.
3. Anyone got suggestions as this Toyo and R-comps are the only hits I get on tire rack?
BTW, I have the Hankook Rs on now ...good tire, but again, I'm now aiming for a street tire that's can be occasionally tracked instead of the other way around.
I have the T1R for my 9's on the rear.
They work fine. Are you really pushing the limits of traction on the street?
Or driving in rain and snow.
Street tires are a mot point. As long as they aren't flat, you're good.
Go for it, and move on with it.
Insanely cheap price is the icing on the cake.

Funny that the RE-11 did not pop up on Tirerack's site ...I'll double check that I put in the correct aspect ratio, but for 245 and 225, only what I had mentioned popped up (so no SO-4 came up, either) ...and strict R-comps, of course. Thanks!
Likewise thanks on the Toyo T1R. This is for my "trackmeister" SC ...my 95% track car. Well, that was for many years, but now life/things have changed so it's now really an occasional track car (5%?) and occasional streeter for the fun of it (993 is my DD). So wet traction is a complete non issue. And no, I am absolutely not pushing it on the street ...just a fun car that now sees more street than track. Hence, my priorities have flipped 180
No experience, anyone, with the Pirellis? Just wondering as I'm already gravitating toward the Toyos, if only for the cost and "decent" factor
