Key Blank for 911 In-Door Security System
I have a '87 911 that was equipped with an In-door security system. I have one key for the system and want to have a duplicate key. My local locksmith, who I have always had success with, did not have the correct key blank in his inventory nor were we successful finding it in his older key blank catalogs.
I told him that I would check online sources for the correct key blank. I thought Pelican Parts might have it but had no luck. I did find a source, but they are located in Australia. I will use them, if needed, but prefer to use someone a bit closer to home.
Has anyone in the US or Canada had a duplicate key made for their security system? If so, can you tell me where you had it duplicated or where I can buy the key blank? My locksmith would gladly cut the key for me. Here are some photos of the key....Thanks!

Bill, The locksmith and I looked in his catalogs at VW and Audi keys in addition to Porsche keys but did not see anything that exactly matched my original key. If the key's manufacturer's name and anything else on your key that may identify it, could you please provide it and to me? Thanks...!

My understanding is that the originals were made by 'HUF' - seems hard to find but there is a place on the net called keys4classics.com that has a replacement - looks more expensive than the VW key

I was going to order blanks from them also until another poster (myflat6) on this thread suggested that the ILCO X9 blank would also work. I went to my local locksmith who cut a X9 blank for me and it works perfectly. Sorry to hear that you are having to wait over a month for keys4classics to respond. Is it too late for you to cancel the order and find a decent locksmith? A professional locksmith should have X9 blanks in stock, or get them very easily & quickly from their supplier.

Just wanted to follow up - keys4classics customer service was very pleasant and sent another pair of keys after the first order never arrived. They are the Silca brand.
