Default Lost radio reception

In my '85 Carrera I have had a good reception on the radio (antenna in the window, removed the antenna on the right wing)

However , after more than 10 years with new radio, suddenly there is no radio reception. As a quickfix I have been playing the CD instead. But now I'm tired of it.

Took a look today and the antenna cord is plugged in to the back of the stereo as it should be. The RF cable then goes into the firewall ( direction the luggage compartment )

Are there any other places/connections I can check and see if something failed ?

I should add that I have children in the house with very limited access to the car. (But , are they able to have poked on the stereo and somehow" disabled" antenna reception ?) ( Sony CDX L450 )

the booster amp might have blown a fuse or died of a broken heart (if you played too much country music)

Most likely the booster amp. It is located deep in the right side fender (wing) under the windshield.
