I think probably 1978. i am basing this on the fact that the Countach i think was the first prestigious car to fit them. and they fitted P7 to the LP400S which came out in 78. Prior to that the Countach had fitted Michelin XWX
there was however a special Countach was built for Walter Wolf in 1975 that fitted the P7. But i kind of think they weren't available for general consumption at that point because they weren't fitted as standard to the Countach till 78
no it wasnt the countach. you must have been on fchat getting your info...
the first production car with P7s was either the 76 lambo silhouette or 930. the homologated special the fiat abarth 131s came with P7 standard in 75 for road use
the first v6 stratos prototypes built by dallara (not yet gr4 homologated cars) were the first to experiment with the P7s in 73 as i recall. furthermore wallace with the urraco rally in 73-74 and the gr5 dallara x19 in 75. dallara oversaw the developments of the wolfs countachs later.
never the less its great news to hear the P7 is back! contrary to what most people think of the new Chinese ownership, they are great in responding well to the needs of the enthusiast.
i hope on day they will release the sought after 285-40 15 P7s size for silhouettes, jalpas, R5 turbos, 911/934 wb bodied cars, panteras, koenigs etc...
