Hello, I made an account on this forum because I feel extemely terrible about possible breaking a shifter on a 2012 porsche 911. I just learned how to drive a stick over the weekend and assumed that to go in reverse on every car you have to push the gear selector up and to the left because that is how you shift into reverse in my Ford focus st. When I did this in a customers 2012 911, however I did not think I had actually broken the shifter and when the customer came out to find the shifter had been raised an extra couple inches he thought it was broken and filed a complaint with the valet company I work at (I'd have done the same thing if I thought someone had broken my $50,000 car). So did I really break the shifter by just pulling it up or is it really broken, I feel awful about it and I am not sure where else to turn to for answers.
