Cat Bypass Pipe 1987 Carrera

He was also quite intent on finding how my car did before and after the exhaust swaps, requiring a little head-time and AFR reporting. In the end, the transformation was pretty astounding.
Starts, idling, sound, performance (especially from 3500 and up, wow) and general driving characteristics. Somewhat hard to put into words unless you're familiar with these cars' 'nature' (I have 9 over the years) but the smoothness of power delivery - presumably from heightened atomization and fuel burn - is nothing like a 30+ year old car.
I've no affiliation and whatever other disclaimer I'm supposed to put here. Recommended. You can PM me if you prefer to keep this thread on topic, happy to share.

I can attest to the massive improvements with pipe, chip, and 4 nozzle injectors. I've not had it on a dyno since I added the Bosch 784's, but just the Pulse Chamber and the Multi-Board chip added 29 RWHP that we were able to duplicate over and over on Bisimoto's dyno. Now with the injectors it's pure insanity back there. Much better driving experience through the entire RPM range. Starts instantly too. I'd go with Sal's set up if I didn't have local sources. (I'm a block from Bisi and I have a local injector tuner)

I went for the M&K cat bypass and the one in two out muffler and the change in the cars performance is very evident in that it just revs so much more easily but is a little on the loud side

I was stunned that my 'sport' Dansk with Euro pre muffler was quieter than my 1 in 2 out Brumos system (which uses B&B cans).

Actually the real difference between the MK and Fabspeed bypass is the MK's O2 bung picks up both banks as compared to the Fabspeed which senses only one, i installed the MK unit when i had a 3.2 in my 911but i do appreciate the Fabspeed full header system with the 3.6 now.
Both are good units !

Yes i do love my Fabspeed exaust , sounds awesome and the fit was nice !
Did you guys ever figure out how to get rid of the droning between 2 and 3 thousand rpm ?
Inserts or small baffles ?
No , i will not cap off one of the exaust tips ...
It was sweet with a helmet on when i was tracking the car but it's doing street duty now and it's annoying on long trips !

The RSR kit that wildcat is running is a completely different exhaust design that is a good bit more aggressive than the catbypass and Maxflo system we were chatting about. I don't think I've ever had one complaint of cabin resonance from our standard Catbypass/Maxflo combination in all the time I've been here. It is widely considered the "golden ticket" setup for a primarily street driven car.
