911SC History inquiry
Recently I have purchased a 911SC, I am trying to find out more about it's history. I know all the technical data from Peter Morgan's book but want to know about previous owners. It's from 1978 according to Porsche it left the factory in 7/1977 VIN 9118300147, engine number 63800289, transmission number 7180256, color petrolbluemetallic, interior cork (beige), Fuchs alloys, whaletail, chrome window frames, airco, sportsuspenssion, sticker on rear spoiler which states"Texas A&M". The car was originally delivered in Belgium then exported to the US where it drove till 03/02/92 it was then brought to Germany in the beginning of 1992 with substantial fire damage to the right hand rear due to an engine fire. I do have a 1992 "certificate of title for a vehicle" from the commonwealth of Virginia. It is from 03/02/1992, odometer reading then 54208m, title 46650811, vehicle owner, Allstate insurance co, 4191 Innslake Dr, glen allen va 23060 (they don't keep records!) prior title number 45878783. The dmv can't help me either and carfax only goes back till 1980. Anyone out there who can give me more information? Car right now completely restored with new engine and 8000km since restoration.

Hi k911sc,
I don't know what a ROW car is? According to Peter Morgan's book The orginal 911, 91182 is also a k-serie model 1978 and indeed a US49 or Cal car, 91183 would be then for the rest of the world or Japan in 1978.
Mine would be from one of the first series number 147.
