Default Is the Porsche 911's Future Electric?

Could we be looking at a number of signs which all add up to a not-far-off future where an electrified 911 sits prominently in the model range?

the car looks nice!

I would have no trouble having an electric porsche as my daily driver/beater and a Cup car as my track rat and a RS as my street toy...

The future of every car is electric, just some will take longer than others.

Hideous. Nice wheels. They look like they came from Rent-a-Wheel.

Maybe we would embrace it just a LITTLE if it looked like a regular 911...only electric? Rather than some stupid concept car from the future.

My guess is it will be part of the future, but only a segment. There is a market for electric cars and Porsche, BMW, Tesla and others don't want to be left out.

Sorry to burst a few bubbles but Porsche has green-lighted this car. I don't think it will be considered a 911 though

Not unless they hang a big *** electric motor behind the rear wheels, anyway. Gotta make it handle just like the traditional 911.

the 911 will be a hybrid for some time

when an EV outperforms a hybrid in every way they will need to do some serious thinking

* not a fan of the whitewall tire look on that thing
