Valuation Help: What is this '86 Carrera worth?
Hey guys!
I went to look at a Porsche yesterday and wanted to get your advice on what's a reasonable price for the car.
Craigslist Listing: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/ctd/5312616813.html
Car:
Paint/Body:
Interior:
Engine/Transmission:
Suspension/Brakes:
Wheels:
The dealer has it listed for $45k. I haven't had a PPI done because I want to see if $45k is in the ballpark for the car. I don't mind the engine work, assuming it was done properly (didn't see any leakage). I love the Wevo shifter, Momo steering wheel, and upgraded brakes, but the fiberglass turbo flares are holding me back. There is documentation on the car, but none on the flare bodywork.
How much does this affect the price? What would you pay for this car?
Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Craigslist Listing: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/ctd/5312616813.html
Car:
- 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera
- 72K miles
Paint/Body:
- Black exterior: re-painted not sure when. Paint is 7/10. Has swirlmarks and rock chips here and there and rear decklid has some door-ding-esque dents in it, which is bizarre
- Original owner had fiberglass turbo flares put on the car (unsure about the quality of the job or how this should affect the price as this was undocumented)
- Whale tail spoiler
Interior:
- Maroon Leather: seats and interior are in amazing condition for the age of the car
- Momo steering wheel
Engine/Transmission:
- 3.2L engine was expanded to a 3.5L with 100mm cylinders and Max Moritz pistons, 964 C4 cams, Carillo forged rods, twin plugged heads, ported intake manifold
- Engine work was done in 1992 at a cost of $16k when the car at 26k miles
- The car pulls hard from the drive given to me
- Wevo shifter
- Rebuilt 915 Transmission
Suspension/Brakes:
- 22mm front & 28mm rear torsion bars & Bilstein struts
- 4 piston Bremtek calipers front & rear
Wheels:
- Authentic RUF Speedline 17x8.5 front and 17x10 rear
