My 88 Carrera has 225/50/16 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires on the rear wheels but one tire is now damaged beyond repair due to metal shards on the roadway.
The V12 Evo tires are now a thing of the past. Not made any more. No other Hankook summer tires are available until next spring! Any brand suggestions for tire replacement? The car is my DD and used for AX monthly.

I have Dunlop Direzza's on my 88. Will look for alternatives as this generation of the tire does not seem to be exactly the same dimension as the earlier Direzza's. They occasionally rub on the fender lips. I look forward to reading about what others recommend and wish you luck with your choice.
I use Bridgestone SO2 - 225/50 x 16 on rear & 205/55 x 16 on front of my 89 with 7&8 rims, some opt for the wider 245/45 rear and 225/50 fronts ... Its a popular choice here in UK.

I have Continentals at the moment. They're pretty good. I've always been a fan of Michelin too.
