Default 1987 911 salvage need advice on the value

I've been wanting a 911 turbo for the longest time. I've owned 911's before and can appreciate the car for what it is. I'm an owner of a very nice 928, a highly moded BMW M Roadster, a 89 Mercedes 560SL, and a Ferrari 355. This will be the last piece in my collection.
For me, it seems like the ship has sailed. I can't afford a nice car that needs nothing. I wouldn't mind buying a salvage car because I could care about the resale value as I have no interest of reselling(unless of course something horrible happens). Another reason why I would be ok with getting a salvage car would be I will end up modding the car heavily(RBW style) and I rather get in the car with as little as possible and get it fixed as time and $$ allows.
So, the question is what do you guys think this car is worth?

Thanks

Not sure, looks pretty nice for something going through a salvage auction. You'll probably need to run the vin & options to see what it started off as & also look to see current condition in addition to what lead to it being salvage. I'd have said somewhere between current bid ($20k) and $30k is reasonable- but it depends what it's like in the flesh.
PS you've got similar taste in cars to me, jumped from a 928 to my 911 via a variety of Alfas (buddy used to run BMW's)....I almost went for a 355 prior to the 911 - but that boat had sailed too!

It says fire damage ... electrical ??? from what i can see the rest of the car appears to be untouched. The Andial intercooler is a sign that some $$$ were invested in that car as well.I would say 30K is very reasonable for a car that's easily worth double that amount once it's back in running order !

Cheers
Phil

It does say fire damage and the engine is not running. The car does look sharp. I think I'd have assume the engine is shot and the electrical is all fried.

Alfa is a special breed. I've always enjoyed Alfas. To bad there aren't more around.
308-328 and the 355 Ferraris started to go up in value. If you still want to get in a Ferrari the 348 is it. You can still have it for about mid $40's. Hell of a car for that $$$.

I always wanted a 348 - but when I had my TVR Chimaera in the UK I went to look at one - I'm too tall!
Now when the later TVRs come to 25 years old lll bring a Griffith, Chim or Cerbera into the states! Supercar performance with parts bin running costs.....loved em! Would've kept it if I hadn't moved countries (not to derail the thread haha)

I actually never drove the car. I'm thinking almost the same interior as the 355. I'm 6'4" and comfortable as I can get in the 355.

You maybe right on the 456. I'm not sure what they run for these days. I never drove one of those but it is a v12 how bad can it be??

My guess: Oil on headers caught fire then the sound pad went up in smoke. Engine is likely a 3,5 and not damaged as much as they think.

I can't go look at it. I was going to gamble. I was thinking $25k limit. Now I'm considering $30k.
