Default Cracked Air and Exhast Hose question

On my 79SC the ribbed black air hose has some cracking in the plastic.

In addition there is a metallic ribbed exhaust hose on the underside/right which is more severely cracked with some gapes.

Was just wondering if cracked/holed hoses such as this can do damage while operating. Also wondering if the cracked exhaust hose helped to pass smog test as there will be some exhast escaping before getting to the tailpipe?

Thanks for any input!
Tony

i'm thinking you are confusing exhaust hose with heater hose .. the heat comes from the blower and fan up top down to the exchangers. across the exchangers and into the cabin. You can get replacement stuff on line .

Yes, thank you, the heater hose. I wonder if there is any performance or smog effect from this.

absolutely not....
the air blows inside a cavity that is built over the exhaust in order to pick up heat.
