Default Rough idle???

'88 targa, excellent maintenance history, new plugs, plug wires and dist cap. Idles very rough at all operating temps, once rpm's get above 1200, runs perfect. Any ideas? Bob

Have the CO checked along with the Idle Control Valve. Maybe the IDC valve is sticking.

I second the ICV. There is a long list of other culprits, but this one is so easy to do that you have to start there.

Default Solution

Turns out the air/fuel mixture was rich and the O2 sensor was trying to pull back on the mixture/power, causing the rough idle and stuttering. Simple fix and very inexpensive. Thanks to Jim at Brewsters Porsche in San Clemente for another job well done.

Very cool. Gotta keep all that equipment young.
