Without actually actually measuring interiors, it's my belief that the interior dimensions of the 993 are almost identical to those of the 3.2 Carrera's (and probably not far off any 911 built from 1965 to 1998). Front speaker pods for hi-fi options intrude on the 911 interior in 993, but that shouldn't affect car seat installation at all.
Rear seats have 3 point belts in later cars. Rear seating areas are essentially the same in the 3.2's and 993.
Front seats have changed from the 3.2 cars to the 993's, but I would assume they are very close in actual dimensions. There are no air bags in the 3.2, which was a concern in the 993's for locating child seats in the front.
I would bet that 993 child seat would be perfect for an '87 3.2 Carrera.
Kids are safest in back!
