Sunroof Problem
This past weekend my sunroof made a strange noise as it closed. Now, when I try to open it, I can hear the motor turning (at a higher pitch than normal), but the sunroof stays shut.
Questions:
1. What is the likely problem?
2. How hard will it be for me (I am very mechanically challenged) to fix it?
3. How much is it likely going to cost me to have it fixed professionally?
4. Any suggestions for who to do the repair in the Toronto, Ontario area?
Many thanks in advance!

you more than likely broke one of the cables. they can be hair ball to repair but if you check the tech articles here (not sure if renn has one) or at pelican parts theres a good description of the process.

quite often, the cables just pull out of their sliding ends that bolt to the sunroof panel. you can de-burr the end of the cable, twist it back in, and re-crimp the end piece with sidecutters. a cheap fix, but you still have to remove the panel, guide tracks, and cables.
