Was doing some work on my 88 today and then we rolled in this brand new 991

What a difference about 30 years makes:

Bring in a 997 and we'll talk. The 991 diverges from the 901 path dramatically. It drives like a Panamera.

I've a 2007 RS "Small" by 991 standards. If persistence and luck pay off it will have an 80's carrera parked next to it soon.

And yes, the 991 drives big, feels big. So does my 997 compared to the classic cars.

An '80s Carrera next to your 997 RS will be the perfect companion.

It's not a question that a 991 feels big. It is that it is now 'balanced' lacking traditional 911 dynamics; the 997 still has those.

Old, New.

In my neighborhood there are three beautiful 1920 vintage historic houses for sale... been on the market for over a year... people are buying "carriage house" developments, and they are selling like hotcakes... we used to call them "row houses", but this is the new millennium... they're "carriage houses" now, and they'll be selling for 40% of the price in 10 years.

In 20 years,

I'm lucky enough to own two fantastic generations. 997 c2s and an 87 3.2 coupe.

Too bad this crappy Rennlist app won't let me post pictures...

Thanks,
Mark
