Default The right oil for a 1980 911 sc

hey back from a long hiatus, anyway just wanted some opinion for what is the best oil to put in a 1980 911 sc?, I live in the NY area, only drive the car from april to October, and its just a cruising car. Has a slight leak also like most of them. I have mobil full synthetic now , but not sure if 5w 30 or 10 w 30 or 10w 40 would be the best. Any feedback would be great, also over 100k miles, burning a little oil.

Hi There, Oil is a beaten topic, but, seems most folks like Conventional Brad Penn 20W50, or Valvoline VR1 of the same weight. Synthetic oil may contribute to the leaks, so I would stick to conventional. All the best.

Brad Penn 20W50 actually is a partially synthetic - LINK HERE. And synthetics seems to be what Porsche Classic recommends for engines starting with the 3.0L engine...

this is what i use but as noted BP 20/50 is semi ...

bottom line is if it leaks it needs fixing ( eventually i guesss) , i think it has more to do with the detergents in the oil than anything, clearing the deposits that prevent leaks .. either way its a 911 its gonna leak , dont sweat it ...

Is that Porsche Classic 10w60 oil out yet? I was curious about it (and how it would hurt my wallet).
