1969-1973 body part availabilty?
anybody here know what it is like to source good front and rear bumpers and possible trunk lid?
Looking at a 72 RS clone that i wouldnt mind turning back to a 72T but would need correct bumpers and trunk lid...
car would still be an outlaw however.
Before i consider, would like to know if it is hard work finding this stuff new or used and reproduction?

so you're also going to cut the flares off of it too? Remember, you said it is an RS clone.. and if that is the case, and you are changing the rear bumpers, then you will need to cut the flares off and put the narrow 1/4's or lips back on.

Id most likey keep the SC flares and just look for a front bumper to replace the S front bumper currently on it. It also has the RS style front bumper available too.
I think removing the duck and having a stock front bumper would suffice for a hot rod look that im after.

Since you are in Canada you should look at Restoration Design.
If it were me, I'd call Brian at Einmalig. He has new and used of everything. Yes, they still make hoods and grills and the like. They are still making flapper boxes for the old cars.

Just be aware that reproduction body parts are not the same quality as factory ones and many body panels do not fit particularly well.
In some cases, using an old body panel and restoring that is preferable to a new re-pop version where someone is particular about fitment.
In short, your personal standards and expectations dictate whats acceptable or not.

I would definitely check with Porsche. I ended up buying a floor for the 356 way back when after pricing everything everywhere. I think it came down to Zims in Texas, and Porsche. Porsche had the better deal when you include shipping.

This ^^ Great bunch of guys with great parts. Using them for the panels needing replacing on my 1967 912 restoration.
