Default Anyone Know This Car?

... The price seems quite low, but not a single bid. Did anyone check this one out and find something of significance? Also, clean Carfax...

Default '87 Carrera on Ebay...

Hi Tom,
I called the guy, as Iwas wondering why there were no bids. It sounds too good to be true! He said he could let it go for 10.5k, which sounds really low for that car. I asked if a PPI would be okay, and he said "Sure, but it won't tell you anything". Unfortunately I won't be able to get a 911 until next year, but if cars like this are really out there for that kind of price, it makes me think I might be able to afford a Carrera instead of an SC!
Cheers,
Paul.

Paul,

They really aren't out there for this much, which is why I thought it was so unusual for a vehicle with relatively low mileage and a clean carfax. There has to be something about this that we don't yet know.

I would be really tempted to go down to LA and drive that thing if I weren't so well stocked at the moment. At those prices ($12 or $10.5k)that thing could be a steal even if it needs significant engine work.

The only thing that I saw was the damage around the right rear wheel well. That combined with the Utah plates makes me believe that this car might have been a year-round driver in Utah, perhaps even needing tire chains/cables at times. Perhaps it might not look too good underneath...

Yes it is, but at that mileage and year I almost think that one is overpriced. Although it is a coupe, which mostly seem to sell at a little higher price than the targas. When I started looking for a Carrera, I determined that I wanted an '87 or later due to the changeover to the hydraulic clutch and the G50 tranny.

That's why I can't figure out the one I referenced, an '87, going (now) for $10.5k!

Tom

P.S.: I'd love to see a photo of that odometer showing 398k!
