Default whats my ride worth

I am trying to place a value of a 1967 911S engine, #961 998, less than 25 hours since freshened, webers, electromotive HPX, headers, super trapps, no leaks. I have been told 20-25 range..... they on drugs?

Are you referring to a numbers matched '67 911s car or a standalone '67 (refreshed) 911S engine?

To someone wanting this engine the value would hinge on wether it was fully "rebuilt " or not I would think being so old

You are going to need the name of the shop, a build sheet, and all the receipts and maybe even dyno results to maximize the value. Any documentation at all?

don't have a dyno....do have leak down numbers......

Compression: 1/180 2/178 3/185 4/185 5/173 6/188

Leak down 1/4% 2/6% 3/5% 4/7% 5/6% 6/6%

(numbers taken last week....car has not been tracked in a couple of years)

the engine is in a hamfab 914 6 track car (pro frame plate car) ..... I'm trying to decide should I sell the engine to someone that needs it for a restoration or just leave it in a car that could launch it into a few pieces....

As a motive device for a track car this is probably worth $8K or so.

As a period correct engine for a '67 911S restoration it could easily be worth many times that much. Depends on how many factory original parts the engine has.

Just as a data-point, a no-excuse totally original and documented '67 911S could easily command $200-250K or more, so if someone has a complete 911S chassis and needs a correct engine... well you do the math.

I would certainly not use it as a track hack, and potentially blow it up.

IMHO, contact a nationally recognized Porsche specialist and have the engine evaluated. Then you'll know what you have and go from there.

No, $20-25K is not ridiculous... that could be the starting point.

I paid $9500 in 2011 for a 1967 sand cast 911S block that was punched to 2.7, intermediate shaft gear cut, fully plumed, new pistons, crank, correct dist, headers and stainless SSI and ran 226hp and 213 torque on a Mustang 500 dyno.

My engine is worth $ 22-25,000 with the car. It was sourced to find a bullet proof block due to the fact the original Magnesium block was cracked (and is now a coffee table). This was done in 2000 with no idea the value it is worth today. If your block has never been bored out and has the original pistons and crank (completely original), $ 20k easy these days and much more to a guy with a 911S chassis.

My is stamped# 911 790 906/01

I would imagine the Weber IDS carbs with enrichment to be worth $8-10k just by themselves with manifolds and linkages. $20-25k may be low.

Maybe the engine is worth more than the 914 that it's in so he is thinking of selling them separately.
