Default 3.2 Carrera mat attachment

Hi guys, easy question here - I purchased an 86 911 but will not have it home till spring so cannot head down to the garage to check. I used to have an 86 targa, and can't exactly remember how the front mats are attached. I vaguely remember some sort of alligator clips, but not sure if they were original or not - or am I imaging things?

I am planning a set of Coco mats, and would like to know how they are attached (at least on the driver side).

Anyone have a photo to share?

Cheers

Matt

My Lloyd mats came with clips on the end of long nylon tapes. You fish them through the seat tracks, hook the clips on the rear of the tracks and the other end of the tape to the bottom of the mats.
Cheers,
Jess

I Don't remember any attachments. I'd check but can't get to the car right now.

Thanks guys - appreciate it. The Coco Mats website mentions some attachment options and I just want to be sure I understand what's what before ordering.

Cheers

The OEM mats had no hold down from the factory. The very common Lloyds mats have the method another poster listed above, always seemed inelegant to me. In my experience The Coco mats are heavy enough that they don't need a way to be secured, they don't move around.

My '89 has clips and as far as I can tell they are original.

I have Cocomats. They have no attachments. They are quite stiff and have rubber spikes on the bottom. I have never had any problem with them moving around.
Good luck,
Dave

Default 3.2 Mat

Here is a picture of the back of my mat with the attachments. I just use a little bungee cord to attach to the bottom of the seat to keep the mat in place.

Fit perfect and there are NO clips on our 1984 and never were any. COCOMATs are ribbed for your pleasure so no clips needed. -15% for PCA members also!

Hi -
You've probably gotten the info you were looking for by now, but if not, I've got an 84 targa and the floor mats are attached with a funny leather tongue thing that loops around and through the buckle...alligator clip sounds about right. I'll try and take a pic. I think they are original. I've been interested in some mats to cover/protect mine, so I'd be curious to hear what you've found for yours. Waiting for your car must be killing you! Cheers.
