Default Perlon felt carpet in daily driver?

Hi all,
I know appbiz is bigger on the 911 side of the universe than on the 944 world so I am coming to you all for input/experience.

I want to replace the carpet in my car and appbiz offers a kit in the perlon plush felt for the 944 for an extremely reasonable price. I have heard and read many great things about his products but not much in the way of daily-driver experience.

How does the carpet hold up to frequent use? I would get/make floormats in the same material to match and protect the underlying carpet in the footwells. Does it clean easily? I want the perlon because I have tan carpet which isn't available in the regular felt.

Your input would be appreciated!

The sills have held up well but I have a cut down ( fits flush to the rennline alloy backplate that replaced the wooden deal) mats that take the heal wear.
I don't think they'd last well without that.

I've had the carpet a few years now and it looks great...I've driven it 20k miles in the last 18 months.
As long as you have a small mat in the drivers heel area (larger than the one on the perlon) you'll be fine.

Spencer, Bob will make your carpet however you'd like it. If you want the entire foot area made of plastic heal pad, I'm sure he'd do it. He custom made mine without question and without additional cost.

Perlon is a light weight carpet that does exactly what it is supposed to do. It's light weight. Mine shows wear at the door sill and where my dead pedal should be. The rest of the car looks like the day I installed it a couple years ago.

I've got several yards of "extra" if you want a sample. I even got extra welting while I was at it.

Doug,
I might enlist your sewing skills to make up some mats.
Bob told me he didn't do custom work but I was asking about making something not part of his normal offerings.
I am about to blow ~$500 on the 944's rear suspension so maybe carpet next month

Any carpet set can be destroyed if abused correctly.
