Default Kick Panel Question

The PO of my car was the guy who invented "Monster" audio cables. Hence, he had the car loaded with stereo equipment. The kick panels had custom made fiberglass enclosures that were glassed to the car. Anyway, I got those out. Through a lot of searching, I finally found some covers for an '85. They came out of a blue interior car, so they'll have to be recovered. Plus I need new mats because mine was cut.

My question is this... See the arrow in the picture. There is a big gap between the kick panel and the rocker on the car. I don't thing that the new mat will fill that space. Is there carpet that goes there - or am I missing another piece to this panel? Like a map pocket or something.

FYI - these kick panels came out of a targa and my car is a coupe. I don't think there's a diff in the foot wells on the car - but thought I better mention.

Dude, how did I not see this? That is a separate little scrap of carpet. ....and you need carpet.

There's a small piece of carpet that goes there on both sides. Actually, it is glued to the body under the cover and goes under the threshold piece and the footwell cover(s) make it look finished.

I know that the floor boards are different for coupes and targas. But to rule out if there is a difference in the panels just look into the parts catalogue.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, that piece of carpet is LONG gone. In a trash pile somewhere. Just making sure I didn't need some other part. Glad it's just carpet.

These kick panels are HARD to find. I've looked all over and can't find a part number. After two months of searching, I was glad to find these on Pelican. I hope there's no difference between a Targa and Coupe on these. Douglass, what do you think - does your driver cover look like this?

Mine have black carpet and are sitting up in the rafters of my tool shed contributing to the retro rat rod look of my car. As with the brake lever, call Brian at Einmalig and tell him Doug sent you. He has them.

I think the Targa and Cabs have a bit more structural steel down there so it makes sense that the covers differ.. I totally removed my footwell blowers as part of my lighter is better campaign.

1st gear, as you can see, the kick panel on the right side of my 88 Carrera are much larger than the Targa & Cabs.

Thanks, Ron! Will you please post the part # for the coupe panels? That may aid me in my search. Thanks!

PS - I love your car. It's my favorite color combo and year.

From what I can determine in the 84-86 catalog, The left lining is 911-555-179-00 (1985) and the right side is 911-555-180-00 (1985).
