I think this time around I'm just going for a repair. Although the thought of a 3.2 with 964 cams sounds reasonable.

A lot will depend on what parts are worn as pointed out

Beer will certainly double the budget... especially when we start to have engine rebuild parties at your place!

I like the idea of a 3.2 with 964 cams....

Rolstin could lend you his yoke... except that he will probably need it as he drops his engine once a month....

(this is where it would be fun to "tag" users in your post... calling Rolstin....)

I have a yoke and spare engine stand...

All the specialty tools I borrowed though (e.g. the cam sprocket wrench)...

Oliver would you be interested in kind of a long term loan ? (i'm not sure how long it would take maybe the whole winter and spring )

the stand and yoke were the only pieces i was missing as ian has the other stuff i needed

guess i better get going on my bathroom project should finish one project before starting another

if i can at least get the engine on to a dolly before it gets too cold i'll be happy .

Here's the deal: You can have the yoke as long as it takes, no problem. As for the engine stand, I would prefer that you keep it forever, as I have two stands and this second one is just in the way - in other words I am freeing up space at home at your expense!

-Allan

P.S. I also have a motorcycle/ATV jack that I used for the engine drop and install which you can have as long as you need too, if you want it.

Gees Oliver Twist ? Lol I hate auto correct.

Sounds great. This sounds like an engine stand that will be passed around to all people who need it . We should all sign it and call it the Allan stand.

I will start in a couple of months but I can come pick it up any time.

Please pm me ur contact info

Well...
I won't be going on any runs for a while frank.

Unless you extend a rope out the back for the shopping cart I will be sitting in.

Sorry to hear of your problem Iceman; same thing that happened to me a year and a half ago (but my car wasn't running anyway). I'm just now getting ready to start screwing the engine back together. I postponed it a bit because of the rod bearing controversy, which I'm sure you're aware of.

You and I are in the same boat Clive, although probably for different reasons.
I'm happy to drag your shopping cart, but it will have to be with my old Land Rover! Good news is I can drag you up and down some very steep hills..................very slowly.
