If you are in Scottsdale why not contact Dan Brosman? He is a excellent motor rebuilder and knows 2.7's very well! As well as many other sizes

74-77 911's can be a excellent value, like any other model depending on condition. Smiles per miles divided by dollars

I disagree... a high mileage (unrebuilt) 3.0 liter SC is not necessarily a good bet over a properly rebuilt 2.7 liter.

Oddly enough, because the SC 3 liter is generally so reliable to a high-ish mileage, it is only about now that the problems with broken head studs are starting to show with these cars. So I really think that any decision in 2003 has to be taken on a case-by-case basis with individual cars.

Wow, thanks for all the great advice and great pictures. You've all given me some great information to consider and leads to follow. I'll keep in touch and let you know what I come up with.
