New to me '87 Targa
Got this yesterday, a two owner Diamond Blue '87 with 35K on the clock. Can't wait to get her cleaned up and out on the open road.

Thanks guys, I've been out in the garage tonight working on the wheels with some Vaseline and now they pop! What do you Targa folks do to detail the black Targa band?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Mine responded well to a mild cleaner wax and orbital then a coat of premium wax. From then on, I mostly just use a good detailer to keep the shine intact. On the targa top, I use regular applications of 303 Protectant. My top is the factory original and looks pretty good, but really needs to be recovered. Very dry and I'm certain would crack if I folded it. 303 is great stuff. Would love to see more pics!

I learned from a concourse guy to use Griot's "Long-Lasting Tire Dressing" on the Targa Bar. In fact you can use it on all black plastic, window trim, bumperettes etc. Use it very sparingly on a sponge and small sections at a time. It can be a little shiny on day one but calms down soon after. Use sparingly. Mine went from grey to jet black instantly.

Thanks Cheekybird, I'll take it down to Griots and pick some up. If anyone is ever in the Seattle/Tacoma area a visit to the flagship store is a mini museum.

Got home and started a few projects with the car.
Removed an old alarm.
Took out the battery and found a bit of baking soda the previous owner used. Cleaned it all up and shot some paint to cover up the bare metal.
Cleaned the headlight lenses with some rubbing alcohol.
Time for a drink!
