The '75 cars were made in very small numbers, as you know, and to the best of my memory, were all sold before the Turbo Carrera arrived here in late '75 for the '76 MY.
I followed these cars closely way back then since I bought a new '74 Carrera (and I still have it).

I have been hounding the guy for the Vin and he has not responded to me...
The car needs a lot of work, rust under the paint, 964 euro bumpers, turbo wing and decklid, 996 wheels... Its hacked up, but supposedly runs.
If I can get it for around $8k, and its truly a 76' 911S like he says, is it worth it???

If it's all about having an air cooled car I think I would save myself a bunch of $$$ and headache and go spend a little more for a nice SC...
I think you would be way happier. If it's the "look" of the current car, a restored 76s will not look anything like a 964 bumpered example, you should get a 964 if that's what you're liking about it...(which is an excellent car btw...)
If you want a real early 911 aircooled experience, a long good is the way to go...
Each has a different look, feel and experience, you just need to figure out what you're jonesing for.
Lastly I don't think there are many "steals" out there. When you add up what a pulled stud 2.7 with a bad FI head and maybe a collapsed chain tensioner, pre GA rust repair and the need to replace the impact bumpers and narrow fenders....you're into a long hood driver or a clean 964... Better, happier ends to this story...

The car is SUCH a p.o.s. , compared to those pictures...
It has been seriously neglected and the guy is smoking the crack who owns it, because he won't budge off of $12k.
It has rust popping up under the paint everywhere. The rims are completely rusted along with brakes. The car won't even start without starting fluid in the air filter, he said its the fuel pump. The seals are all bad and water leaks inside the car. The deck lid latch is broken completely off, as is the hood latch....
That's all I could see the first time I looked at it.
