Default Rear Tire Width on 1999 996

I own a 1999 996 NB that I use as my daily driver. It has the original 17x7 and 17x9 wheels and I recently discovered that there is an 18x10 version of this OEM wheel. I read the offset is 65mm and would like to use this in the rear while keeping the original in front (or moving the 17x9s to the front?).
I want to maintain the same OEM look and am wondering if anyone has these 18x10s on their car and what would be the widest reasonable size I can get away with. I’ll confess that I like meaty rear tires. 305s? 315s?
Cheers!

You'll probably have better luck on the 996 forum. This forum is for old air cooled cars up through 993's.
