Adam, if you by any chance had an E30 M3 (you Bimmerheads know the one), you will never find a Porsche 911 that rattles like that car! I loved my M3, but the rear view mirror and shift lever in that car did the tango like nothing I've ever seen before on 4 wheels. ;-)

Re: Targas being a little more noisy than coupes--99% of the squeaks come from the Targa Top and 99% of those can be eliminated with a little lubricatiom of the pegs, latches and rubber gaskets before putting the top on. I use either vaseline or silicone grease and my Targa is as quiet as a cat! Try it!
