Hi Guys,
A bit new to Porsche's... I have a 964 Carrera 4 Widebody, and recently just took delivery of a 1978 Porsche 911SC. The Porsche arrived yesterday, and there is a bracket on the left that is empty? What is supposed to go here, and is it a big deal that it is missing?
Not sure if the picture is going to upload right... But the bracket is to the left of the distributor. Looks like it would hold an alternator type sized item.
THANKS!

Well, they go bad and weight a ton. It looks like the pulley has been changed out on the fan as well. It should have a double groove, but looks to only have a single groove.

I wonder what the PO did with the air injection piping after removing the smog pump?
There would have been a pipe going pretty much straight down from the location of the smog pump, through a check valve that sat in a hole in the engine tin, then once down below the engine it branched into six tubes that injected air into the cylinder exhaust ports. I'm trying to remember, but I don't think you can get that air injection piping off without removing the exchangers, or cutting it.
Once you get the air injectors out of the heads, you seal the ports with threaded plugs.
Since they left the bracket (easy to remove), I wonder what they did with the stuff that's harder to take off.
