Default 911T Hood Question

I am a newbie. Wow, what a site. Plenty of info here, but I have not found what I am looking for. I recently was given a 911T hood. I have looked fairly closely over the hood, and find no markings other than "PORSCHE" and "911T". Is there a way (or place) where I can go an identify which year this was produced and get any other information?

That thing is beautiful. The grill is worth at least $350 and the lid even more. Good score.

Default Porsche lid and grill

Thanks much for the reply amber lamps. Can you tell me...it is interchangeable for either the 84 or the 88? And if you know, how would I go about finding a buyer?

Well, you gotta be a member to sell it here. Ebay or craigslist would be a start. Backdaters on Pelican would ****** it up in a second.

....and Yes, I believe it is totally interchangeable. I had an issue matching the rearward curve when I went to a duck tail intended for a longhood, but everyone said that was an issue with the mold, not the lid. Everyone says they should have the same curve. Just try it.

To answer your first question, it's off a longhood car, so '73 or earlier I believe.

When did they go with the plastic grille? '73? And since the "T" started (in the US, anyway) in '69.......

It will fit anything -89. But what's the point? Why screw up a longhood's decklid that's drilled for the "Porsche" and model designation scripts when there a bazillion later model decklids that can be fitted. Other thing to consider is this lid would have the license plate lights integral.

I love it! If I didn't have a home for it,(Which I do!) I would hang that on my shop wall, and smile everytime I walked by it.
Cool stuff!

My 73S had an aluminum rear deck from the factory ( it was a "special order" car). You might want to stick a magnet on it just for kicks.
