Default 1980 euro sc color

Just took the euro 1980 SC out of hibernation. What is this color called? Orig paint, got from orig owner in the fall for 8k. I drove it around one weekend last fall, that's it. I have been driving my 964 so now time to play with this one.

Throw it out there? Like sell it or drive it? It only has 120k kl whatever that is in miles. Paint code sticker missing. Had some paint work I imagine.

8K for a non-sunroof Euro SC! Nice! Love Petrol Blue, and you also scored by it having black interior. And it has 16x7 and 16x8 inch Fuchs.

376? I will check my race car tomorrow. I believe that's what it started out as.

Back to that beauty. It's a rare bird these days. Euro, no sunroof almost always turns into race car. Take good care of her.

Bet it's got LSD too.

+1 on Petrol Blue. A good friend had an '83 Turbo in Petrol Blue with a tan interior. That car hooked me on P-cars.

Good snag on the SC!

Thanks guys. I do love the color. I don't love the popping noise it makes when you rev it. Hoping just exist manifold, but I bet prob head bolt.
Fun fun.
Will dig into it soon and find out If I am doing a motor drop or not. Hopefully easier and less complicated then the two 964 motors I dropped in less then a year. Prob time for top end as the miles are in the mid 70k range.

Meant the Color. It's a keeper and a score at that price.

Anyone have an idea what the cost would be to do a color change from Grna Prix white to Petrol blue on an SC

These cars do break head studs, especially if they have been sitting for a while.

Pifft on acceleration is a dead give-away.

Take it to a good Porsche specialist... they can check for this for a few hundred dollars, or you can do it yourself... lots of info on this online.

If it is a pulled stud, its not that bad, but you need to get it fixed, or you'll ruin your cylinder and head... which is not good as Euro-spec P&C sets are virtually unobtainable today.

A top-end rebuild by a good shop is probably $4-6K depending on parts. Sounds like you are a good amateur mechanic so you can do it for maybe $2K plus tools.

The bottom ends on these cars are bullet-proof, so unless you see any metal floating around, I wouldn't crack the case.

But in top condition, a euro SC is easily a $20-25K car in today's market, so you have plenty of headroom to do such a repair and you'll still be whole.

You have a very desirable car in a very nice color, so it's a keeper... wonderful to drive, and will only go up in value.
