Default 911 Engine Drop

Can anyone share with me the best methods( ie. easiest most successful) for jacking a porsche 911SC off the ground in order to drop the engine. How far up does it need to be raised off the ground in inches? Where to place jack stands to avoid oil lines? Best type of jack etc. New owner would appreciate any insights.

Hello and welcome to Rennlist.
I'll move the thread for you to the 911 forum where you'll get better responses.

try a search term on google: Site:www.pelicanparts.com "supporting engine at removal" see Fred Cook's engine platform. I also made a similar one but really can't post that here.

You'll need 2 6 ton jack stands, a jack pad that goes into the jack socket at the rocker panels, 2 smaller jack stands, some 2x6 scraps of wood, a floor jack (for the transmission), and an atv jack with a engine platform. When you lower the front of the car, the rear will come up, allowing the engine to be rolled backwards and free of the rear of the car. No need to remove the rear valance if you remove the rubber manifold intake at the top of the motor.

You don't need to remove anything from the motor, if you put the 6T jackstands on 2 X 12 scraps...
