Like what? A check of the serial number will pin down what it supposedly is.
But simply from the photo, an early MFI engine. Or a later one with a 2.0/2.2L air cleaner housing installed. Or a 2.7 converted to MFI. Or, or, or. We did a lot of "stuff" back in the '80s and '90s. (And those before me started screwing around from nearly the day a car rolled off the line.)

That's kinda what I was wondering...if there were any signs of what size motor it is...it is swapped into a 912, but the 912 is quite rusty. Car is priced ok, but I am just trying to figure out whether it is worth buying and pulling engine and Trans. Sell the 912 as a roller...

Dude, love the bikes. My kid raced an Aliant. Gary Turner made the frames just for her. Measured her inseam and overall height and let me put the stickers on right there in the factory after it came back from heat treating. We have custom frames from Crupi too. Good times. Only two kids ever beat her across the finish line in all the years we raced. ![rockon](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/rockon.gif)
