I know this has been discussed before, but I need a final sanity check on my plan to mount a cutoff switch. The car is a 74 911, CIS. I have a Merit 6 pole switch. It contains a large normally closed terminal set, a small normally closed terminal set, and a small normally open terminal set. Here's the planned wiring:
1) Remove the wires running to the + side of the battery and mount to the large, normally closed terminal.
2) Run a battery cable for the other large, normally closed terminal to the + side of the battery.
3) Jumper one of the small normally open leads to the large (alternator side), larger terminal.
4) Connect the other small normally open terminal to ground via resistor.
5) Disconnect the CDS wire from the ignition switch and connect it to the other small normally closed terminal.
6) Connect the remaining small normally closed terminal to the ignition switch.
Thanks in advance for help
