Default wheel fitment

Hello all,

I have a 86 carrera and want to install some more modern looking wheels. I like the C2 and 993 cup wheels, but the offset is wrong. What size spacers do i need to make these fit my 86.

thanks

I don't have an offset measurement for you, but am interested in perhaps buying your 16" Fuch wheels. Would you consider selling them?

Brandon,

If you don't mind OEM, Mille Miglia has exclusive rights to make porsche replica's. You can get Cup1 or Technology Twist's in the early offsets so you don't have to use large spacers. Go to www.tirerack.com and you can key in your specifics and see how the look on your car. I jut got a set of Cup1's from them and NO spacers!

Fuchs 7x16's offset is 23mm, 8's 10.6mm, and 9's 15mm. 964 wheels typically are around 52-55mm, although there are Turbo rear wheels with 68m offset. 993 wheels in the front are usually 52-55mm, but in the rear are either 55mm or 70mm. To use any set of these wheels, you need to just do the subtraction to know what size spacers you need. As Jim mentioned, some aftermarket vendors have licensing rights to produce wheels that look like the original Porsche wheels, and often they have 'early' offsets.

If you track your car neither the oems w/ spacers nor the MMs are a good choice. If not , Enjoy!

The MMs do have the correct early o/s by incorporating the spacer in their hubs, this has the advatage of letting you use stock lug nuts, but the disadvantage of being heavy and more prone to cracking when stressed.

Here's an example of what can happen
