Sounds like you could use just about anything but the tires will "age" out before you wear them out under almost any scenario. Do you want period looking tires, hi-po tires or what?

I want period looking tires. I want the car remain as pure as possible from the day it left the factory. A guy working on my car gave me a price of $141 per tire for continentals but he didn't tell me the size so I have no idea if I'm getting ripped off or not.

that was the tire I was thinking about too unless you want to buy something from Coker Tire's inventory. Make sure that you are sitting down when you inquire about their pricing if you think that $221 is expensive. I recall running CN-36 tires on my '75 targa. YMMV
