Default 915 Transmission refresh/rebuild questions

I'm bringing my car in next week to the mechanic for a check-up and probably to have the transmisson refreshed. I've got a '86 with a 915 transmission and 95k miles on the clock. Syncros are probably worn since it's difficult to get the car in first and 2nd gear despite pausing in between shifts. I've got a factory installed short shifter kit in it.

I assume the box is going be opened up and at least syncros being replaced... so my questions are:

While the box is open...should I do any other updates? LSD?
I think I heard that Wevo has an "internal transmission gate" that goes in the box to improve the shifting pattern and gives more positive feeling

Since I've got the car in the shop...should I install a Rennshift or Wevo to further improve shifting?

What else can I do to make it the best it could be?
Is the "coupler whisperer" worth installing? Is it even available anymore? Is the WEVO PSJ coupler just as good?

Hope to learn as much as possible before next week so I can get my car setup the best possible way.

Thanks!!
